Allegro Largo Triste (2017) depicts the polyphonic music of Franco Melis,a Sardinian musician and launeddas player.
According to Danish ethnomusicologist Andreas Fridolin Weiss Bentzon,Launeddas has an unbroken history on Sardinian soil of 3.000 years.

Instruments in this family consist of three reed pipes, with five notes on each hand, the left hand being combined with a drone. The player uses circular breathing, playing all three pipes simultaneously to produce vernacular music for dances,or to accompany religious processions.Traditionally, musicians were trained by a master who instructed them in the technique, the repertoire and the manufacture of the instruments.

Franco Melis (°1958,Tuili),is the last of a long lineage of musicians from the village of Villaputzu in southern Sardinia. The film follows the uninterrupted flow of the music, drawing an unbroken invisible thread between Franco Melis and the little bronze Nuragic statue from the archaeological museum in Cagliari.
